Kim Delaney was an American actress. She is most famous because of her part as detective Diane Russell, in the ABC series NYPD Blue. For this she received the Emmy Award. Her credits include All My Children Philly CSI: Miami and Army Wives. She was born as the only child of a high-ranking executive in the United Auto Workers and a household worker, Delaney was raised with four brothers. She dreamed of becoming a court reporter in her early years, but began modeling in high school eventually garnering commercials following her move into New York. Her first role as an actor was as a young girl in the soap opera All My Children. Delaney is well-known as an actress who has been involved in numerous television shows, and dramas. While she has a career success, her personal one is not as content and successful. She has also experienced two unsuccessful marriages and struggled with alcohol addiction. The year 2005 was the time she lost custody of her only child she had.
